Stray dogs – do not be arrogant while serving them.
I am just a babe in arms when it comes to Animal Welfare and stray dogs and the experience I have. But I recognize ARROGANCE a mile away !. It is human nature I think to think of privilege and class even when it comes to animals and nature. I am hurt when it appears for some that serving a pedigree pet dog is far important than a stray dog.
If there is anything that infuriates me is when Vets, Hospitals or these sundry pet service providers assume we cannot afford their services just because we walk in with a stray dog. There is this air of arrogance .. oh these caretakers and their stray dogs from the streets cannot afford my services ! WRONG !
Its a dog, it is a living being, it needs your help and I presume your promise your vocation is important as well.!
If a survey were to be done , it will not be a surprising statistic that we care takers of stray dogs can end up spending much more MORE than what pet owners would.
For us the stray dog is as precious as the dog we have at home. The stray dog will get the same treatment and love as we would give our pet at home. Had we had the resources and place, the stray dog would be staying with us under the same roof.
Our aim is to save a lives and many a time when COST is not even a criteria! So put that ARROGANCE aside at least while we are around , do your job as professionally as the premium of your charges and let us be on our way.
These people also seem to have forgotten how stray dogs have indirectly contributed to the fame and repute these service vendors have earned today. It is us caretakers and animal lovers that spread the word when they were starting out assuming their vocation was true and honest.
I have nothing against people earning a living with what they do , but I do have a problem is when there is no humility and empathy for those living on the streets.
DO NOT ASSUME YOUR STATUS over our stray dogs EVER. Karma can be a BITCH !
