It will still be a MERRY Christmas.

It has been a tough year with Covid and all its associated problems. Lockdowns, restricted movements, the looming threat of the disease, children unable to go to school, offices shut, family members contracting the disease, quarantine, it has been a unusual and rather stressful year.

The saving grace is the Spirit of India and us people to pick ourselves up and try to continue with life to be as normal as possible. Sure, it is about the urge to survive and maintain a gainful livelihood but the enthusiasm of the Indian people still cannot be capped. Diwali was a great example and trend setter, it was A HAPPY DIWALI, perhaps not the same but we celebrated in the best way possible given the covid circumstances.

I have the same faith in our people this Christmas as well. We will come together and celebrate in the safest way possible again. There will be the colored Christmas lights on balconies, the Christmas star and the wreaths on doors. There is no doubt Christmas Marzipans, chocolates and other Christmas sweets will be prepared and distributed. I am so sure the Christmas Tree and decorations will be taken out and a festive spirit will adorn the house once again.

Presents will be bought perhaps from the local stores or online, sweets will be distributed, there will be prayers for the safety of our country and family and there will be the reaching out to other family members. This is the Indian way of life.

Yes, most of us will take precautions due to COVID , we will wear our masks, we will maintain social distancing and other norms but we will celebrate and will be continue to celebrate each festival in India. Covid is not going to crush the festive spirit of the people of India. WE WILL CELEBRATE!

Wishing all a SAFE, MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HEALTHY HAPPY New Year.
